Small glass tags

Anybody have any experience with Avid PetTrac?

I've managed to get lf t55xx detect to give result only a few times. I think it's being inconsistent because of the antenna, I guess. I have a stand alone scanner that reads the tag with no problem and from a distance. No matter how close or far I get with PM3, I get nothing. I even made some smaller antennas (one was about 1cm diameter) and they don't work either.

I've tried lf search and lf search u, which do show up, but not enough to fill up the graph to recognize or get a clean enough signal.

Also, I don't know what to do with the data after I do lf read.

Re: Small glass tags

Can you post a trace?  I'll take a look.

Also some pet tags are 134khz try adjusting the lf config.

Re: Small glass tags

Thanks! I knew it was going to be some config that I wasn't aware of.

For anyone else trying to read tags of this make/size, lf config H is what I did.

Now the confusing part is, it shows up as a valid IO Prox so I tried using lf io clone <id> to another card, which seemed to work, but the standalone reader won't recognize the other card.

Re: Small glass tags

Sounds like a false positive.  But I can't tell without seeing more details
