RFID tags support table

You are right, it is more the purpose of this section to discuss these things.

So a quick overview is now available here.

Are there any tags/modulations that we forgot? Should we add also tags that are not supported at the moment?
I think it is very useful to have a complete overview of all RFID tags/modulation types.... there are so many standards...

Is a NEDAP tag really using 120kHz in stead of 125 or is this a typo?

Maybe we should split up "manufacturer" and "type".
For example, NXP produces I-Code, hitag(2) and MIFARE. EM Marin 4100 is produced by STMicroelectronics, etc.
It would be good for reader to have an idea to search when they want to determine their tag-type.

Do we know anything about the Atmel CryptoRF tags, besides that it uses ISO14443-B ?

Yes, it's really 120kHz, but it works very well when using 125kHz...

Re: RFID tags support table

I compiled a quite extensive list, if someone has a way to publish it online making a table with 5 columns:

MANUFACTURER - TYPE - FREQUENCY - DESCRIPTION - NOTES/STANDARD

and make it updatable (write password-protected) I can share it.

Re: RFID tags support table

I would suggest using google docs. It is easier to give access and maintain the spreadsheet.
Here's the url:

Re: RFID tags support table

Thank you for the google docs suggestion; Here it is, compiled with all my findings (more than 200 tags/chips listed). Each line had been almost verified by datasheets but human errors (mine smile) may occur.

File is read-only; if you want to add something else (and I hope you will !!) please write in this thread and I will provide to add it in the file. Please, if you want to add something be sure that you have info for ALL the 1st 4 columns, standard/notes can be left blank.

0xFFFF: sorry to have not used your link but I converted my list into .xml and directly imported it into a new sheet; anyway 0xFFFF can I contact you privately ?

EDIT: is there a way to embed the .xml in a post through some bbcodes ?

Re: RFID tags support table

Shall we add a column that tells something about security features?
For example information about:
- Lock-bits
- Cryptography
  * Key length
  * Algorithm
  * Authentication
  * Encryption

Re: RFID tags support table

If someone will help me it could be done.
Send me your email and i will give you write permission wink ; add your columns and fill some example, i will try to continue.

For what i read probably not all ICs have a detailed description.

Sorry to ask here roel but can you move the android compiled thread in the main page between windows and linux client section?

EDIT: started the LONG writing: added and partially compiled the new "SECURITY" column...

Despite the lack of interest shown I have completed the work; hope it will be useful for someone. There will probably be some errors, if you find some of them please report them here and, when I will have time, I will try to correct them.

Is a NEDAP tag really using 120kHz in stead of 125 or is this a typo?
