EDIT
Problem solve! Silly me, I was trying to update the usb connection and not the port. Hope it will help others if they are getting the same error.
Read the first post http://www.proxmark.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=3975
Read wiki on how to flash, use the client...
Good luck!
]]>If you want to compile / use the latest sourcecode from Github, then yes.
If you have linux, Mac or docker you can use that instead of installing the Mingw environment for Windows.
It comes down to what you are comfortable with, but the instructions are the same for Win 7 / Win 10.
what do you mean by compile? what am I compiling and why do we compile. sorry you probably thinking I am retarded

]]>I'm afraid I can't help you.
ok got the driver to install, apart from the driver is there anything else I need to install? I only need to copy cards.
]]>Sorry, on my win10, 64bit, I disabled the driver signature (those new blue screens and reboots) and installed it afterwards by pointing to .inf file when "update driver" / "have disk" for my PM3 device.
using the one on GitHub. https://github.com/Proxmark/proxmark3/t … ter/driver
I did disable the driver signature to start with.
when i open the github link I see two options.
-77-mm-usb-device-blacklist.rules
-proxmark3.inf
I clicked on both which opened separate pages with some sort of codes... but couldnt see a download file.
Sorry I am very new to this.

]]>What is the name of the driver file you got ?!
It should be .inf, try installing v2 drivers , it shall work fine as well in theory btw.
The file name is called Proxmark3.inf
I tried v2 and v3 drivers are same I think as I have tried few version, but still get the same error.
